Ako prebrzo jedete ometate normalnu funkciju inzulina

Ako prebrzo jedete, hormon inzulin će teže raditi svoj koristan posao za vaše tijelo. To znači da će manje hranjivih tvari doći do vaših mišića, a više će ih biti pohranjeno u vašim masnim rezervama ili salu. Dugoročno vam to donosi mnogo veće šanse za razvoj dijabetesa tipa 2.

Istraživači su otkrili da oni koji jedu brzo imaju dvaput veću vjerojatnost dobiti dijabetes tipa 2, od onih koji jedu sporije. Prethodne studije su već pokazale da oni koji brzo jedu imaju veću tjelesnu težinu. Ako jedete brzo jedete više, a ako jedete sporije, pojedete manje količine hrane, vjerojatno zato sto probavni sistem luči hormone koji suprimiraju apetit i optimiziraju funkciju inzulina.
